It’s incredible how thoroughly Nintendo has supported Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U and 3DS. More DLC and bug fixes than you can shake a stick at have kept the game front and center since its release. But equally incredible is how long Nintendo has supported the games.
Despite the fact that the final DLC was released for the games months ago, Nintendo continues to patch and balance the game regularly. Patch version 1.1.6 is due to be released soon even now. It is currently unknown what this latest release will change in the game, but previous patches have fixed all kinds of glitches and balance issues with the game.
Despite what seems like a constant beat of bad news that developers are abandoning their titles after short suport windows, Nintendo continues to support this title late into the Wii U’s lifetime. It garners respect with their customers, I’m sure.
